Maine Coon Cats are a very special breed
The cattery name of Cumbrescoons reflects the Spanish atmosphere of the San Luis Valley in Colorado, where the Cumbrescoons cattery first began. "Cumbres" translates into English as "the peak, the pinnacle, the topmost point." What a goal to strive towards!
I established Cumbrescoons in 2000, prioritizing health and a pleasant temperament as well as simply gorgeous Maine Coons.
I test all my cats for potential health issues, such as HCM (hypercardiomyopathy), and I'm very happy to continue as a cattery that is free of Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.
The cats and kittens are in the house with me, and this helps greatly with their socialization. They learn to play, explore, and feel comfortable with all our friends and visitors. They enjoy Mohjy the Chihuahua. The kittens are raised to be friendly and confident in their new homes.

Kittens are raised "underfoot" and socialized as family members in a warm and loving home.
I welcome continued open communications with all my "kitten families" as I love to hear how everyone is doing, and answering any questions along the way.
I am very selective in placing the right kitten(s) in the right home.
Shipping of kittens is possible, circumstances permitting.
I ask for a deposit to reserve a kitten. A deposit made while waiting for a litter to be born allows you to choose a kitten in the order of deposits received by date...
If the deposit is paid in advance of a litter being born, and there are no kittens to meet your preferences, I refund the entire deposit. If you do reserve a kitten, once born, and later change your mind, I refund 50% of the deposit. This helps to cover my expenses as I begin the vetting process.
Kittens are kept here until 14 to 16 weeks of age.
